Pace Law Firm Immigration Seminar, Vietnam

Pace Law Firm and Vietlaw Solutions Firm in Vietnam have joined forces to focus on Vietnamese Immigration opportunities. Members of the Pace Immigration Team are planning to visit Vietnam in the autumn to speak with business associations and clients who have expressed interest in Canadian immigration. A seminar has been scheduled in Ho Chi Minh City, on September 25, 2010.

The Pace Law Firm Prize for Excellence in Immigration Law is awarded each year to the law student with the highest mark/standing in the CML 3397 Immigration Law, or, CML 3797 Droit de l'immigration offered by the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section.

Maytree Scholarships for Protected Persons and Landed Immigrants

Maytree Scholarships for Protected Persons and Landed Immigrants who were Protected Persons Entering first or second year of a Full-Time University or Community College Program in Toronto.

September 2010 - May 2011

CANDIDATES must be between 18 and 27 years old and living on their own with no parents in Canada, and will be selected based on:

  • Academic merit
  • Financial need
  • Community involvement
  • Personal interview and references

Live In Care Giver Program:

On the 12 th of December, 2009, Minister Kenney announced significant improvements to the Live In Care Giver program, proposing several changes to regulations to prevent exploitation of Live In Care Givers and also to facilitate obtaining Permanent Residency for family members. Long delays are a well-known feature of Canadian immigration processing, wherever an application is being processed. The Nairobi visa office, however, stands out for its extraordinarily long processing times. The immigration officers working there are asked to do the impossible. Those served are forced to endure significant physical, economic and psychological hardships as a result of the very, very long waits. Processing at Nairobi is extremely slow in almost all immigration categories. This document focuses on privately sponsored refugees and dependants (spouses and children) of refugees in Canada.
