I was facing deportation order following my criminal convictions. I have gone through three immigration lawyers over a span of two years. While I was waiting for my immigration case to be heard, I was again charged and convicted in the year of 2008. Consequently I was put on an immigration hold.
I had lots of difficulties contacting my lawyer at the time. His office did not answer my collect calls. Finally I managed to get hold of his office through a three way call. When legal aid sent him a request to do an opinion letter, he declined to the request.
Then, I got several numbers from other inmates and started to call lawyers. While I had no success getting my collect calls answered by almost all the numbers I called, Karen K. Anderson answered my collect call and immediately came to Maplehurst to see me the next day. This was the first time I have seen an immigration lawyer to react with such urgency.
Karen submitted an excellent opinion letter to Legal Aid within two days after she visited me in Maplehurst. As a result Legal Aid approved my application for legal representation and I retained Karen K. Anderson to be my immigration lawyer. That proved to be the best decision I have made.
Karen is a very bright and great lawyer who handled my case extremely well. I was informed about any step she was taking in the process. She has been a very supportive and professional lawyer who defended me with all her heart and mind. She prepared an excellent document brief in my defense which resulted in a very positive outcome during my IAD hearing.
She has left no stone unturned to defend me. She contacted and obtained reference letters from friends and experts. All the requests she has done resulted in me getting excellent letters and on time. She has left an amazing impression among my friends and relatives. Her legal counsel and support has not stopped after the hearing. She follows up with me on regular basis.

My Name is Ann and I live in Mississauga. We came to Canada about 20 years ago. My two sons were 5 & 7. When my oldest boy was about 12 he fell in with the wrong crowd and got himself into all sorts of trouble with the law. Over the years, he chalked up a huge criminal record. We never took out citizenship, so we are all Landed Immigrants. With his record my son was eventually given a deportation order. He has little or no family back home in Scotland and to be sent home would have been devastating to myself and my husband.
