After retiring from government service in 1993, Alexander established an immigration consulting firm - Vis-Ã -Vis ,also spelled Visavi. (currently the official name is Nexus-Visavi). In the early 1990’s, the citizens of Russia had very little knowledge and virtually no experience with immigration and/or emigration matters, and reliable information was difficult to access. Since Alexander’s previous career involved the field of publishing, he was able to use his expertise, contacts and experience to inform and educate the public on immigration issues. He launched a number of initiatives to achieve these goals including: conducting a series of immigration information seminars, delivering lectures and speaking engagements, writing numerous articles, and publishing informational brochures and booklets. In 1997, he published the book "Immigrating to Canada" which was an instant success. His most recent publication (in 2002) is entitled "Professional Immigration".
Since 1993, Alexander has been assisting people wishing to relocate to Canada. For many years he has maintained close professional and personal ties with James Metcalfe, formerly of "James Metcalfe and Associates". When James joined Pace Law Firm in 2004 as Senior Immigration Advisor, it was natural that Alexander join him and continue their personal friendship and professional association. Alexander is committed to exceptional client service, and believes that professional representation and personalized counseling are the most effective tools to guiding clients through the immigration process.
Alexander is a fellow member of the International Informatization Academy (UNO associated member), and co-author of advertising law and regulations in modern Russia.
