VISA APPLICATION
Permanent Residence
An application for permanent residence must be submitted to the immigration office that serves either: |

- the country where the applicant is living if that applicant has been lawfully there for at least one year; or
- the applicant's country of nationality.

An application may be submitted in Canada only if you are a member of the live-in caregiver class; a spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner already in Canada; or a temporary resident permit holder.
Persons who have been lawfully admitted to Canada and have status in Canada may apply at the Immigration Regional Processing Centre at the Canadian Consulate General located in Buffalo, New York, USA. |

- Work and Study Permits (Temporary Resident Visas)
An application for a work or study permit must generally be made outside of Canada, with some exceptions. The application may be submitted to any Canadian Visa Office. |
Visitor Visas
An application for a visitor visa can be made at any Canadian Visa Office outside Canada.
